Literature Review

The Impact of Immigration can provide.

Immigration has been a challenging debate in the U.S. because there is no way to pinpoint whether it’s good or bad for the U.S.  However I beg the question of “ to what extent can a monitored and controlled immigration be beneficial towards the U.S?” Some say that immigration is negative because of how immigration can impact the economy of the United States and if people feel safe because of the negatives that immigration brought in terms of crime’s. However, others and I argue that immigration can be very beneficial to America because of how America can grow, and also how it grants more diversity in America. Even though the negatives of immigration can be high, monitored and controlled immigration can benefit the U.S in terms of diversity and economic growth.

The author of the article talked about the negative things that people see in immigration and also the beneficial outcomes that come with Immigration. One piece of information that it speaks about is overpopulation and how it can bring an increase in rent and food which was said right here that “in theory, higher growth would lead to more tax revenue to enable higher spending.” which brings a valid point but it’s already been established that with Immigration when tax revenues are increasing immigration that enables a higher economic growth to combat it.  However, in the article, I was able to see certain pros of immigration that spoke on why immigration benefits the U.S. and how it can harm the U.S.. One of the pros was talking about how immigration increases demand and growth. Which was an interesting outcome that I  had come across because in society, there are lots of people who abide by the saying that  “ immigrants are here to take their jobs,” but in the post, it states that when this happens, it can also mean an increase in jobs for those around. Since immigrants would be coming in to do jobs and increasing demand for work that they are working on, that would in turn open up job opportunities for those who need them, and also in product growth as well. One other key detail that I found was how people speak on the fall of GDP because of immigration, and even though it has been supported that immigration increases GDP, there has been a known way that immigration can lower it; however, it’s more of an assumption than it is a fact.

I was able to find out more information on how immigration has strengthened the economy in a lot of ways. One way that the article stated was that it would reduce inflammation, which, yes, is something that has been going on for a long time because of how food prices have gone up, and even restaurants and delis have been affected. However, with the surge of mass deportations, the prices of fruits, vegetables, and even eggs skyrocketed, where now people are struggling for groceries, when the U.S was promised to give a better economy and lower the prices of goods, but the opposite happened. A quote from said article is “FWD.us analysis shows that immigration also reduces inflation by helping to close the labor gaps that drive consumer price increases that outpace wage gains, lowering costs for all Americans. Increased immigration in recent years helped reverse inflationary pressures and maintain stable economic growth.”  This is showing the information on what can be established if we think smarter of the whole immigration process but clearly the U.S most people and parts don’t see it that way and just love to isolate the whole idea of coming into the country illegally which needs to change if the country wants to grow to be a better community for those around.

One actual resource that I got is from a friend of mine who brought up a point about how immigrants are okay with doing the harder jobs that others wouldn’t want to do, like construction, farming, and other hard labor jobs. However even though it is what a friend said there is paper proof evidence from an article that talks about how “In March 2018, immigrants with less than a four-year college degree made up 10 percent of all persons (and 11 percent of all U.S. workers) in the United States, but they reflected a large share of all workers in many important occupations and industries, according to Census data. (See Table 1.) Fully 36 percent of workers in the farming, fishing, and forestry fields are immigrants without a college degree, as are 36 percent of building and grounds cleaning and maintenance workers, 27 percent of hotel workers, and 21 percent of home health care industry workers.”  This shows a statistic of the types of jobs and even how it benefits those around. And again it also ties back to the idea of monitored and controlled because if we go with this solution, we can bring immigrants for those reason,s but still respecting their rights as people in a way of you help me and I help y.ou

Something I also wanted to bring was an article about the separation of families happening because it’s a huge thing going especially with the selection of who’s being sent and who’s not. The article speaks of felons should go and not families, which is saying that those who have committed crimes or have committed crimes should be the main focus behind who is being deported. While they also bring up the facts of immigration, they are also separating families, which would leave kids in foster homes. The reason I bring this up is that instead of just deporting all of these immigrants, we can legalize them, which will then better help the community because the crime rate would go down, and also they would have a lot better access to social services and healthcare. The biggest thing of all is that since they would be living with us,  they can then contribute more to the community and civic life, which can be a massive improvement. Also, this ties back to the whole idea of monitored and controlled because if we can decide when immigrants and why they are coming any of the issues that people are speculating about would be instantly shut since with this process we can determine who is coming into the U.S and why.

To conclude, my paper my overall answer/solution is that immigration has been a challenging debate on whether it’s good or bad and even if there’s a way to fix it but I offered a solution of instead of just trying to get rid of them entirely we can implement a system where they can come in but at the same time it will not be to just vacation here their will be some requirements and this way not only we help them but then are economy will grow and it will even offer more diversity in the U.S.

REFLECTION

During the whole assignment, something that was hard for me was finding ways to get away from similar talks about certain things. The reason I chose this topic to talk about is because it’s something within my family that has been an issue for a while and for a long time the issue always came up in ways that I could never understood so i decided to find what exactly is being seen as the negatives and what exactly can be seen with the positives or even the issues with immigration as a whole. I never encountered issues the research itself it was fairly easy finding sources and articles I was intending to use the only thing that made the research hard was the fact that I was trying to look for specific differences within works so that i’m just not copying the same things over and over again because it wouldn’t move the work any further which also wouldn’t make for a strong argument which is what i’m trying to accomplish.
